“Stories Of Style” è una serie di 3 eventi organizzati da Nike Sportswear in collaborazione con 3 blogs italiani: Contemporary Standard, Think.Bigchief e Fresh’n'Good. Per le prossime tre settimane il nuovo concept store Nike in C.so Vittorio Emanuele 24 farà da cornice a tre eventi basati sui temi: “Apparel Icons”, “NIKEiD” e “Sneakers”. Il team di ogni blog si occuperà dell’allestimento e di tutta l’organizzazione della serata intorno al proprio tema, attraverso installazioni, musica e altro ancora.

La prima serata sarà questo mercoledì 30 alle 18, organizzata dai ragazzi di Contemporary Standard che hanno interpretato  il tema “Apparel Icons” in collaborazione con Studio Fanstastico. Si prosegue mercoledì 6 Luglio con Think.Bigchief che sviluppa il tema “NIKEiD” e il 14 Luglio con la serata “Sneakers” organizzata da Freshngood.

“Stories Of Style” is a series of three events organized by Nike Sportswear in collaboration with three Italian blogs: Contemporary Standard, Think.Bigchief and Fresh’n'Good. For the next three weeks the new Nike concept store in C.so Vittorio Emanuele 24, Milan, will  host three events based on the themes: “Apparel Icons“, “NIKEiD” and “Sneakers“. Each blog wil take care of the whole organization of its theme evening, through installations, music and more.

The first event will be this Wednesday june the 30th at 6 pm , organized by the guys of Contemporary Standard who interpreted the theme “Apparel Icons” in collaboration with Studio Fanstastico. The happening will continue Wednesday July 6th with Think.Bigchief that develops the theme “NIKEiD” and July 14th with the “Sneakers” evening organized by Freshngood.

Vi avevamo annunciato l’inzio di una nuova serie realizzada da Konbini, questa volta in tour insieme alla crew Ed Banger in occasione del settimo compleanno dell’etichetta.

Konbini, i videomaker che abbiamo già incontrato come creatori della serie Street Mapper per Citroen, tornano con un nuovo progetto in collaborazione con Etnies: Ed Banger 7

La serie The Ed Banger 7 è composta da 7 episodi realizzati nei 7 giorni di trasferta newyorkese per festeggiare il  settimo compleanno della crew.

La serie dovrebbe iniziare oggi, attendiamo trepidanti il primo episodio e intanto ci accontentiamo dei teaser!

Konbini, the videomakers we have already met as creators of the Street Mapper series for Citroen, return with a new project in collaboration with Etnies: Ed Banger 7

The Ed Banger7 Series consists of seven episodes shoot during the 7 days tour in New York, celebrating the seventh birthday of the crew.

The series should begin today, while you anxiously await the first episode enjoy the teasers!

Forse non tutti sanno che…Stanley Kubrick lavorò anche come fotografo negli anni dell’immediato dopoguerra: dal 1945 al 50 egli lavorò infatti per la rivista Look, che si proponeva di documentare la vita sociale nell’America del dopoguerra.

Rainer Crone, il curatore di questa mostra e grande studioso di arte contemporanea, ha scoperto e studiato ben 12.000 immagini tratte da questa rivista, che nessuno mai aveva avuto modo di analizzare dal punto di vista critico o storico.

Fino al 4 luglio 2010, al Palazzo della Ragione di Milano saranno esposte oltre 200 fotografie, molte delle quali inedite e stampate dai negativi originali, realizzate da Stanley Kubrick dal 1945 al 1950 quando, a soli 17 anni, venne assunto dalla rivista americana Look.

Did you know that … Stanley Kubrick also worked as a photographer in the immediate postwar years? In fact, from 1945 to 1950 he worked for Look magazine, a magazine whose aim was to document the american social life in the post-war years.

Rainer Crone, the curator of this exhibition and a great expert of contemporary art, has discovered and studied 12,000 images from this magazine that no one had ever had critically or historically analyzed.

Until July 4, 2010, at the Palazzo della Ragione in Milan, over 200 photographs will be on display, pictures taken by Stanley Kubrick from 1945 to 1950 when he was hired by Look magazine, many of them unpublished and printed from the original negatives.

Nike Stadium è un laboratorio di creatività nato in occasione dei mondiali di calcio, che coinvolge città come Berlino, Londra, Milano, New York, Parigi e Tokio.

Ogni sede sviluppa progetti indipendentemente, che riguardano il brand ma neanche troppo: per esempio la sede di Parigi produce un magazine ricco di illustrazioni e fotografie e si può anche seguire il progetto parallelo di sensibilizzazione sull aids in Africa “tied together“, che  coinvolge tutte le città di cui sopra.

Nike Stadium is a laboratory of creativity born in occasion of  the World Cup, involving cities like Berlin, London, Milan, New York, Paris and Tokyo.

Each office develops projects independently, related to the brand but not too much : for example the Paris office produces a magazine full of illustrations and photographs called “stadium Paris”, while you can also follow the parallel project to raise awareness about AIDS in Africa “Tied Together“,which involves all the cities mentioned above.

Il BFF è nato 10 anni fa dopo che Brendt Barbur, fondatore e direttore del festival, è stato investito da un autobus mentre era in bicicletta a New York. Barbur decise di trasformare un’esperienza negativa in qualcosa di positivo e diede inizio al festival, inteso come una piattaforma per celebrare la bicicletta attraverso musica, arte e film.

Quest’anno si celebrano i dieci anni del festival che, dopo l’inizio il 16 giugno nella Grande Mela, sarà ospitato in varie città in giro per il mondo, compresa Milano! Stay tuned!

The BFF was born 10 years ago after Brendt Barbur, Founding Festival Director, was hit by a bus while riding his bike in New York City. He decided to turn his negative experience into a positive one and started the Bicycle Film Festival as a platform to celebrate the bicycle through music, art and, film.

This year, in order to celebrate the 10th birthday of the festival, after the beginning june 16 in the Big Apple, it will tour in various cities all over the world, Milan icluded! Stay tuned!

“Home sweet home” è la mostra personale di Stefan Strumbel alla CircleCulture Gallery, Berlino, in cui l’artista rivisita in chiave completamente pop tematiche legate alle sue radici, la Foresta Nera, facendole divenire simboli provocatori, violenti, scioccanti.

Ed attraverso la provocazione e la rottura dei tabù, Strumbel riflette su una delle illusioni della società moderna: “cos’è la casa? Come definire il sè e ciò che lo circonda?”

“Home sweet home” is the solo exhibition by Stefan Strumbel at the CircleCulture Gallery, Berlin, in which the artist revisits his roots, the Black Forest, in a completely pop way making them become provocative, violent and shocking symbols.

And through the provocation and the breaking of taboos, Strumbel reflects on the illusions of modern society: “What is home? How to define the self and what surrounds it?”
